GenAI Grant Evaluator

GenAI Grant Evaluator is an internal platform for teams who run startup grant programs. It applies AI to a first-pass review of applications, produces structured notes for reviewers, and supports clean handoffs across multi-stage evaluation so the team spends less time on admin and fragmented offline follow-up and more time on clear, traceable decisions.

Role

I was the UX/UI designer for the evaluator experience end-to-end on an AI-powered grant evaluation platform, designing intuitive interfaces that simplify complex review workflows. I contributed to user research, wireframing, and high-fidelity UI, collaborating closely with product and engineering teams to translate AI capabilities into clear, usable experiences for analysts.

Approach

I took a user-centered, iterative approach to reduce the complexity of grant evaluation. Starting from key pain points—manual screening and inconsistent scoring—I designed streamlined user flows and structured information architecture to make large volumes of application data easier to navigate. I focused on surfacing AI-generated insights in a transparent and actionable way, ensuring users could trust and effectively use the system, while continuously refining the experience through feedback.

Outcome

The redesign delivered measurable gains in evaluation speed, decision clarity, and scoring alignment—outcomes teams could track as application volume grew.
